Scarlet rosemallow, Hibiscus coccineus

of ruby-throated hummingbirds, and the fine foliage resembles that of marijuana. Plants grow 5-8' tall but die back to the ground every year. Although its found naturally in wet areas, we've found it to be tolerant of dry soils once established. Hardy in zones 6-10.
