Pauli Murray Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray was a pioneering civil rights activist, lawyer, feminist, writer, and the first Black person perceived to be a woman to be ordained as an Episcopal priest. A tireless advocate for social justice, Murray’s work bridged the civil rights and women's rights movements, and played a significant role in the legal fight against segregation and discrimination. This bundle features the Pauli candle and original artwork print by artist Claire Alexander. Created for the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice, the scent notes not only capture the essence of the Durham neighborhood Pauli grew up in, but also symbolize the inner richness and faith, optimism, stability, resilience, hope and strength that her commitment to community fully embodied. 50% of net sales from the bundle go directly to supporting the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice. Scent Notes : Rose, Magnolia and Marigold Candle Details : Each 10oz Black, matte vessel contains 7.5 ounces of wax and custom-blended fragrance, along with all natural cotton wicks. 70-80 hours of burn time each.
