California Goldfields grows best in full sun with well-draining soil and seasonal winter/spring moisture. It is well suited for native wildflower gardens, pollinator patches, meadow plantings, and low-water landscapes. Plants are usually low-growing, with narrow leaves and bright yellow flower heads that bloom in spring. Fall sowing is recommended in mild California climates so seeds can germinate with cool-season rains and bloom naturally in spring. Height: 4–16 inches.
